Hi Brian,

I recommend you stick just with puppy food and NO meats from the table until your puppy has reached the adult age (about 12 - 14 month). And do not feed any milk products because this will be to much calcium for a growing puppy.

I'm training a puppy right now. 4 month old lab. Should I stick just with puppy food or add some meats from the table?

Interesting what you say about dogs eating the gut first. I have experience of this. When our dogs got hold of one of our chickens that escaped they did indeed eat the gut first even though they absolutely love chicken wings etc.
Not to say they didn't get a real telling off! I'm still waiting for the new chickens to lay eggs now.
