I would have thought there’s less need for a dog cage than a cat box. Dogs are social animals and as long as they perceive you as being the ‘top dog’, they’ll stick close by you and obey you.

if you have a small house with children, then it a must to have a dog cage.

I have a dog cage for my jack russell terrier, Samantha. I call it her “dog condo”. She loves it. She goes in there and takes naps during the day, because it’s her “safe place”. And at night, she’s not running around the house creating havoc!

I used a dog cage for my boxer puppy until she was about two and a half years old. I found it very helpful during the earliy years as it made it a lot easier to train her, and with superb results as well!!

She is such a well behaved dog and lovely dog and I would seriously recommend a dog cage to anyone who is thinking about buying one.

Thanks for this informative post. I have known many friends that use a dog cage to take their dog on vacation or commute. Whilst it works well for some dogs, my dog actually suffers from car sickness, and so I like to put him in a position where he is not feeling claustrophobic and where he can see out of at least one car window that is not the back one… Would a dog crate work in this way?

Not all dogs can handle a cage. 3 of my 4 dogs have done fine with crate but one freaked out so much, her paws bled from trying to claw her way out.

I have 4 dogs and want to train them to sleep in a cage/ stay in cage when we’re out. What’s the best way to do it? Is it best for each individual dog to have it’s own cage or can we have 2 in one and 2 in the other? Any top tips for the training process?
