Positive and Negative Sides of Using An Electric Dog Training Collar

New technological developments of modern times are constantly changing our life – now we can enjoy the benefits of using such technological advancements as wireless internet connection, 3G mobile communication, microwave cooking and many other technological improvements. In a similar way, an Electric Dog Training Collar is considered to open a new era in dog training.

The owners know very well about the capabilities of these kind of collars, so they use these collars to control the misbehaviors of really aggressive dogs. Those dog owners who are using such collars should not be considered cruel: actually, handling the dog with the help of an electric training collar can work very well in the situations, when the dog’s behavior is too dangerous for his own wellbeing.

The Pros And Cons Of Using A Electric Dog Training Collar

Just like with everything else in the world, the use of an electric dog training collar has both its benefits and its drawbacks. The main benefit is gaining higher control on your dog. No matter where you are, indoors or outdoors, it is advantageous for the owners of hard-to-handle dogs. Besides, since electric dog training collars use static electricity, you won’t have to worry about your dog’s well-being.

Speaking about the disadvantages, it is necessary to mention a certain ethical controversy connected with using electric shocks on dogs. Although most collars have very low-level shocks some people just can’t bring themselves to buy one. Finally, a lot of dogs have negative response on training with an Electric Dog Training Collar and demonstrate better reaction to other ways of controlling their negative behaviors. In the end of the ends, every dog owner has to choose the best and the most effective method of handling the pet.

My friend has a shock collar on his dog at his home. Worked great. The zone doesn’t even work anymore but his dog still doesn’t leave the yard.

We have been working with our dog with a Shock Collar. Prior to, he stopped listening to us outside with the slightest distraction. Since using the collar, we walk our dog leash free, he comes when called- The First Time (with out using the collar). All basic obedience had already been taught but became more solid through training with the collar.
Like any means of training, there are right and wrong ways… I am extremely greatful for the Shock Collar and absolutely adore our dog now.
