If your local climate is more prone to heat than cold you want a dog house that will help keep your dog cool. Look for one with plenty of ventilation and place it in an area of your yard where it will be in shade most of the day. There are air conditioned dog houses available for those dogs that have a difficult time in the heat.
Select a large dog house that gives your dog plenty of room to lay down and turn around but not so much room that it will never be warm enough. When it comes to dog houses bigger is not better. There are many different materials used to make dog houses among the most popular are wood, plastic, PVC, and galvanized steel. You can buy a dog house pre-assembled or one that needs to be built.

I remember building my first dog house. It was a lot of fun and the dogs loved it.
I even made it with swinging doors like a saloon.
It was so big I could get inside of it…..lol
Now that they are gone, my cats have taken over, but thats ok.
