Our dog went into shock for no apparent reason. He became weakened and had pale gums and tongue. We rushed him to the vet without doing anything. It was not a severe case and as he realized he was going to the vet his adrenaline kicked in a bit and helped a little. He was administered oxygen and IV fluids and perked up after awhile. The cause was never found.
Now that I know I would choose to give him a little coffee. The vet said if he is conscious and looks like he could swallow, give him a benedryl.
